Discover life at The Rock in Bury

Miller Homes has released the first information on its new residential development located at the heart of the £340m redevelopment of The Rock, in Bury town centre. This announcement completes the line-up in what is now the largest retail, leisure and residential scheme to open in the UK in 2010.
The development has over sixty retail stores including M&S, Next, Primark and Debenhams, a 1,250 space car park, eight restaurants, a 10 screen Vue cinema and a 24 lane AMF bowling centre. The Rock has created a new town square for Bury, which has seen a comprehensive upgrade of the surrounding streets, roads and public areas.
Miller Homes’ news comes ahead of The Rock public open day, on Sunday 20 June, when guided tours will allow people to appreciate the scale and the appeal of the town’s regeneration. Miller Homes sales team will be on hand throughout the open day to provide more details on the size, designs and options for the 113 contemporary, one and two bedroom apartments in the scheme.
Peter Vella, Sales Director at Miller Homes, says: “The Rock will see the revival of Bury and raise the towns profile to compete with Manchester and Leeds. We are delighted to be a part of this major revitalisation which marks our first return to the town since completing our Miller Brook development in Tottington in 2006.”
“We have named the residential development ‘Miller Homes @ The Rock’ to reflect the lifestyle change promised by this new location. It also brings something new and exciting to the property market in the area. City style living in a new neighbourhood, in a vibrant and thriving town centre. The properties will have broad appeal and attract first time buyers, young professionals, couples, singles and corporate buyers.”
Miller Homes’ 113 one and two bedroom apartments are situated in two buildings. 86 properties are located above a new Marks & Spencer store providing views of the new shopping square named ‘St John’s Gardens’. There are a further 27 apartments conveniently located close to the leisure facilities.
Prices are yet to be released, but Miller Homes says that the first releases will be very competitively priced, to attract local buyers and people from outside the area to Bury. Central to the appeal of the apartments will be quality and value that Miller Homes has a reputation for, plus the ease of commuting. The Metro-Link tram service interchange is a short distance from the apartments. The full show apartment and marketing suite opening will follow soon.
