Roger Clark Motorsport release Wiseco 2.35 forged piston kit
The benefits of forged pistons are well known in tuning circles. Not only are they stronger and more resistant to detonation then their lesser cast brethren, but also their reduced mass means they can usually rev to higher RPM. As the ultimate example of the art, reigning Time Attack and Ten Of The Best Champions, Roger Clark Motorsport has commissioned these exquisitely machined 2.35 litre capacity pistons from Wiseco for fitment into the legendary EJ22 engine.
The EJ22 is probably best known as the powerplant for the 22B homologation car, and is the perfect basis for tuning, thanks to its larger displacement and, unlike the 2.5 units, stronger ‘closed deck’ block. These pistons increase the displacement further still, and can easily run at much higher compression than the OEM units, as well being good for 800-900 BHP without issue.
They can be fitted directly to the stock conrods, or for those looking to create the ultimate spec motor, a set of RCM’s own Arrow rods.. Well, if it’s good enough for their Gobstopper.
The 2.35 kit comes complete with all piston rings and costs £599.99 + VAT. In addition, RCM also stock every single piston and rod solution for every Subaru flat four engine configuration on the planet, from manufacturers like Wiseco, Cosworth and Omega. Each one tested as only they can - usually on the way to the podium.
