Showtime in Vegas

5th July 2010 Print

It’s bold, brash and the bright neon lights of the Vegas Strip flash an astonishing array of wares non-stop 24/7.

But if high octane entertainment hits the spot rather than playing the casino tables, Jetsave’s brand new Simply Vegas journey (jetsave.com) will help to shortcut the selection process. One of the new Inspirational Journeys available from the US specialist, this seven-day experience celebrates three contrasting aspects of Las Vegas Showtime: from the acrobatic dynamism of Cirque du Soleil to a 50’s-style big band night and the glitz of a Caesars Palace show featuring an international megastar.

Caesars Palace is one of Sin City’s most opulent experiences with decor that relives the grand days of Ancient Rome and the shows staged in its Colosseum are mammoth events. Cher is currently presenting an extravaganza that showcases a career spanning more than 40 years – complete with 22 costume changes - while Celine Dion will be on stage from March 2011.

As a complete contrast to the music events shown at Caesar’s Palace, Jetsave is including an evening at one of Cirque du Soleil’s spectacular productions for Simply Vegas. Featuring a mix of drama, acrobatics, music and not a little humour, the feats performed on stage are awe-inspiring, whether performing at speed on a flying trapeze high above the stage in Mystère or plunging below water level in O, the latest epic from Cirque du Soleil.

Cruise along Frank Sinatra Drive or Dean Martin Drive and you’ll soon realise how important the Rat Pack were to Las Vegas. There’s even a Sammy Davis Junior Festival Plaza in the city’s Lorenzi Park. For its final Showtime event, Jetsave offers an authentic 50’s style Rat Pack experience featuring the most famous numbers performed by this legendary trio with a big band to bring the spectacular to life.

Departing on 20 November and regularly thereafter, Simply Vegas costs from £1,539 per person and includes transatlantic scheduled flights, five-nights’ accommodation, tickets for the three shows with a dinner to precede each of these and a fabulous helicopter ride down the famed Vegas Strip.

There are six new Inspirational Journeys, each themed and tailored for people who like to play hard on holiday. Each of the action-packed itineraries is designed to be taken individually rather than in groups but incorporates the in-destination support of Jetsave’s local USA teams. These are among 45 Jetsave Journeys of North America, including 25 escorted tours, eight self-drive trips and six cruises.
