An elementary theatre break at Park Plaza

6th July 2010 Print

Combine a stay at Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes with a trip to the new West End play of the sleuth and his sidekick for an elementary theatre break.

To celebrate the revival of ‘The Secret of Sherlock Holmes’ on stage at the Duchess Theatre, stay under cover at Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes.

The deluxe four-star boutique hotel is located on bustling Baker Street, a stone’s throw away from Sherlock Holmes’ residence turned museum at 221b, and only a short distance from the Duchess Theatre in the hub of Covent Garden.

Playing host to the Jeremy Paul production, Peter Egan takes up the role of the greatest detective of all time whilst Robert Dawes plays Holmes’ dedicated sidekick Dr Watson. Originally appearing in the West End in 1988, ‘The Secret of Sherlock Holmes’ promises to take you on a journey into the great mind of the detective and finally reveals the true relationship between Holmes and his arch nemesis Moriarty.

After the show why not head back to the hotel to enjoy Sherlock’s favourite cocktail – a delicious blend of Bulliet bourbon whiskey, angostura aromatic bitters and a sugar cube - in the stylish Sherlock’s Bar before taking a copy of one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s adventures to your room for some bedtime reading. A truly Sherlockian experience.

‘The Secret of Sherlock Holmes’ opens on 20th July and is showing for a limited time of 10 weeks.

Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London (parkplazasherlockholmes.com) is also located near the shopping meccas of Marylebone High Street and Oxford Street; perfect for a bit of pre-theatre shopping. The hotel’s award winning restaurant Sherlock’s Grill serves a delicious modern European menu. Rooms are from £109 excluding VAT.
