Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Miller Homes’ site manager, Laurence McLaughlin has proved, five years in a row that he is amongst the best, following his attainment of the coveted Pride in the Job accolade from the National House-Building Council (NHBC), an awards programme designed to recognise the achievements of the best site managers in the UK.

Laurence, who is site manager at the Brooklands development in Gainsborough, has within the last five years received an amazing eight awards from the industry body.

“An exceptional achievement by any stretch of the imagination,” said Andy Davies construction director for Miller Homes Yorkshire. “The standards are high and must be achieved at all stages of the build. The independent adjudicators are stringent with the criteria and for Laurence to be awarded again is a remarkable achievement that makes the whole region proud.”

Laurence was judged over a 12 month period on his commitment to high standards in all areas of the construction process. Judges visited the site at key stages of construction, starting from when the foundations were laid to the homes completion. Laurence needed to prove that he has effective control of all areas of his site at all times.

Laurence said: “It’s all in the organisation, to be a good site manager means you have to be focussed, know your project timetable and surround yourself with a good team. I’m really proud to be receiving this award for the second year in a row for the work we have done at Brooklands.”

Andy continued: “To be recognised by your industry peers is an exceptional achievement and it is people like Laurence whose, skills, knowledge and dedication not only help to provide excellent working conditions but also provide quality built homes that our customers can be confident in choosing.”

Laurence and his team are currently building a variety of properties at Brooklands in Gainsborough ranging from two bedroom apartments priced from just £84,500, to three bedroom townhouses with study from £141,495.
