UK travellers have best experience with US hotels
ebookers.com, one of Europe’s leading online travel agents, has found that hotels in the USA (17%) are leading the way in offering their customers the best possible experience.
Whereas our neighbours on the continent have not fared as well, with Spain (17%), France (15%) and Greece (10%) topping the table for giving customers their worst hotel experiences.
The research, which polled 2,000 UK adults, delved into the nation’s hotel experiences, revealing that we’re also a nation of clean freaks, with 48% of British travellers claiming lack of cleanliness as their greatest bug bear when staying at a hotel.
Fiona Duncan, co-founder of HotelGuru.com comments; "It’s no surprise that the nation loves a great hotel, as it’s often one of the few times we afford ourselves a break away to enjoy being waited on hand and foot. The ebookers research highlights the key criteria that help make a quality hotel, such as cleanliness, location, recommendations and value for money.
“My top tip for travellers looking for the best possible hotels is to take the time to become a savvy booker. Do lots of research online before you make your decision, whether it’s reading travel articles or reviews from previous customers. Also, don’t forget to share your experiences with others to help them make the most of their stay.”
To make it easier for its customers to find the best hotels, ebookers is launching a nationwide search to find its very own ‘Hotel Inspector’.
