15th July 2010 Print

Get to the heart of the world’s northernmost capital this summer on a new evening walking tour with Icelandic operator Reykjavik Excursions.

Soaking up the rich array of culture, cuisine and architecture, this three-hour walking tour of Reykjavik and neighbouring Seltjarnarnes will take you on a journey through the cultural heritage of the Icelandic capital.

Starting with a short bus tour to the neighbouring town of Seltjarnarnes, abundant in flora and fauna, the walk commences with a visit to Hallgrímskirkja church and Einar Jónsson´s sculpture garden. The tour also includes visits to the old timber house to the busy fishing harbour, making stops at some of Iceland’s finest delicatessens en route.

Operating Wednesday through to Saturday between 18:00 and 21:00, the guided tour includes three light gourmet stops and pick-up from hotels and guesthouses costing 7,500 ISK per person (around £40).
