Beaulieu International Autojumble

Beaulieu’s most famous event, the International Autojumble takes place on the 11th and 12th September, in the grounds of the National Motor Museum, and is the biggest outdoor sale of motoring items this side of the Atlantic.

Now in its 44th year, the International Autojumble shows no signs of waning in popularity. Beaulieu’s Events Manager, Judith Maddox said: “Last year’s show saw an increase in demand for spaces resulting in a record number of stands. I am delighted to report that stand sales to date are already ahead of last year and look like being another sell out.”

With over 2,000 stands, groaning with all kinds of classic motoring ephemera - motoring parts, accessories, automobilia, literature, tools and clothing, there is something for everyone and lots of bargains to be had. This iconic event enjoys the reputation that; “if you can’t find it at Beaulieu, it doesn’t’ exist!” The traditionally cosmopolitan flavour of the International Autojumble will be much in evidence again this year with both exhibitors and visitors coming from all continents of the world.

In the Automart there will be over 200 cars on offer, from restoration projects to cars in concours condition while the DealerMart will have a selection of classic cars for sale.

On Saturday, Bonhams will be holding an auction of Collectors’ motor cars and automobilia.  One of the star lots, with an estimate of £180,000- £220,000, is a 1927 Bentley 3-litre Red Label Short Chassis Tourer by Vanden Plas.  It was originally owned by Forest Lycett and is offered from long term Lockhart family ownership.

On Sunday, the popular Trunk Traders will offer amateur autojumblers the opportunity to sell their surplus motoring bits from the back of their cars.

The Autojumble is open from 10am on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday.  Ticket prices are 1-day adult, £13.30 (Sat), £11.70 (Sun), child £7.70 (Sat), £7.40 (Sun), even less for a two day ticket and booked in advance. For advance tickets visit beaulieushop.co.uk

Visitors to the event will be able to enjoy all the Beaulieu attractions, including the National Motor Museum’s latest exhibition ‘ ProMotion’ showcasing a number of vehicles that illustrate the imaginative and fun techniques companies have used to promote their products over the years, plus World of Top Gear, Palace House and Beaulieu Abbey ruins.
