A Highland-based cruiser hire company has responded to the rise in demand for romantic breaks and honeymoons at home by designing the ultimate intimate love boat for couples looking for a getaway break or honeymoon with a difference.

Caley Cruisers in Inverness has recently launched a luxury new love boat built for two as the latest addition to its 29-strong floating fleet, aimed at enticing romantic couples and honeymooners looking for intimate breaks in the Highlands to explore the waterways of the Great Glen, including Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal.

The purpose-built Isle of Skye class couples’ cruiser features an immaculate and contemporary interior perfect for an intimate escape. The spacious galley is ideal for preparing romantic dinners which can be enjoyed in the comfortable saloon with 360 degree views of the breathtaking Highland landscapes before couples retire to their intimate double cabin finished to the highest standards.

The self-catering, self-sail format of a Caley Cruisers holiday allows couples to tailor their getaway to their own tastes – doing as much or as little as they wish, from relaxing on board to taking advantage of the numerous outdoor activities available along the way including golf, cycling and horse riding to canyoning, kayaking and hill walking.

Caley Cruisers’ director Audrey Hogan said the craft was introduced in order to provide couples seeking a secluded sejour with an exciting alternative to self-catering cottages or “glamping” (upmarket camping) both of which have seen a rise in popularity with the bite of the credit crunch and the surge of the “staycation”.

She said: “We know that many couples are now looking for alternatives to the traditional romantic break, whether for a honeymoon, holiday or anniversary celebration.

“Taking time away from the pressures of daily life can be a great way to reaffirm a relationship and there is no better place to escape from it all than on the waterways of the Great Glen which travel through the heart of the Highlands and offer unrivalled access to all this area has to offer.

“Our Isle of Skye class cruiser is a boat built for two offering luxurious on-board accommodation and facilities allowing couples to relax in comfort while exploring this unique and romantic environment.”

Isle of Skye 3 day hire starts from £452 and weekly breaks from £695. For more information, visit: caleycruisers.co.uk
