Miller Homes is celebrating its largest tally of twenty-three Quality Awards in the prestigious National House Building Council (NHBC) ‘Pride in the Job’ competition. The NHBC rewards the very best site managers in the UK and this year Miller Homes North West has scooped five awards.

Why is this important for homebuyers?
An NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ award gives house buyers peace of mind that the home they are looking to purchase is built to the highest standards and every possible care and attention to detail has been taken in its construction.

Seeing an NHBC award logo on a development sign gives buyers confidence that new homes are independently deemed to be built to an exceptional standard and that every step has been taken by the developer to produce a quality home for the customer.

The competition is tough
This year approximately 13,000 UK site managers competed to win one of the coveted 400 Quality Awards in each of four categories: small [3 to 50 homes built in a year], medium [51 to 100 homes built in a year], large [more than 1001 homes built in a year], and multi-storey builder [over three floors]. Winners now go through to the next round in the competition the ‘Seal of Excellence’ and to become a ‘Regional Finalist’. With the numbers down to around 33 regional finalists the competition then heats up in its final stage, to pick the Supreme award winner for each category.

The NHBC judging for the Pride in the Job is rigorous and extends over an eighteen month period, monitoring site managers for excellence in a range of 38 disciplines, including leadership, technical expertise, high standards, quality workmanship and health and safety.
