Straight sets win for SIS Live and Volvo FH

SIS LIVE, world leader in TV live broadcasting has invested in a pair of new 500 horsepower Volvo trucks to help cover top live events all over Europe.
The first 13-litre FH-500 6x2 has already covered the Grand National at Aintree before driving south and setting up stall at Wimbledon to cover the annual LTA Championships before moving on to St Andrews for the Open Golf Championship and then Royal Ascot.
Technical Services Manager at SIS LIVE, Steve Senior said, “These Volvos will be pulling our latest flagship outside broadcast (OB) unit which is the biggest of its kind in Europe.” Getting the tare weight for the tractor down to 7.5 tonnes was essential for SIS LIVE as they operate right on the 44-tonne limit. As Steve explained, “OB equipment is heavy kit, not to say expensive too, so we need it looking after and I must have every kilo of payload available.”
The supplying Dealer, Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London of Hayes worked hard with SIS LIVE to guarantee the kerb weight required. Steve Senior said, “Apart from the obvious alloy wheels and tank, Tim Atkins at Hayes worked with us to deliver what we needed and the truck came in at the target weight, fully-fuelled, and as promised.” He added, “We have run 460s in the past and the drivers appreciate the extra pulling power.”
