London 2012 hopeful Stephanie Twell will fly home from the European Championships today and begin her new role as a Citroen Sporting Ambassador. Despite just missing out on a medal in the women’s 1500m final last night, she still has a reason to smile as she picks up the keys to a brand new DS3.

Dubbed by many as the ‘next Paula Radcliffe’, 20-year-old Stephanie originally built her reputation as three-time European Junior Cross Country Champion between 2006-2008, she has now turned her attention to her favourite track event – the 1500m – the event she competed in at the Beijing Games and hopes to repeat at London 2012.

Marc Raven, Communications Director at Citroen UK commented: “We are delighted to sponsor Stephanie, a thoroughly committed and focused individual. She is most definitely one to watch for the future and we wish her well with her ambition for gold at the London 2012 Olympics.”

Stephanie Twell says: “I’m proud to be supported by Citroen and am really enjoying my new DS3. It will be a great help in travelling between competitions - although my coach has already got his eye on it, and has offered to drive so that I can rest before races!”
