The Bush Retreat, Australia.
Faraway Bay is a truly unique retreat, nestled on a rocky hilltop overlooking the Timor Sea, in the remote Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Although simple it provides unrivalled luxury for a bush camp, with eight spacious cabins scattered amongst the natural bush setting, offering privacy and 180-degree views of the spectacular cliff-lined bay. Six cabins feature ensuites with a private outdoor solar-heated spring-water shower. While the wildlife is prolific, the neighbours are not. With a maximum of twelve guests at any time privacy is ensured.
From £1986 per person (for three nights and three days including scenic air charter from Kununurra, accommodation, all meals, drinks and activities.)
The Desert Retreat, Morocco.
In an attitude of defiance, this stunning Saharan desert kasbah perches on the edge of its cliff, daring the ocean to reach up the rock face and grab it. A magnificent place in a wild setting; here you can enjoy sumptuous interiors and an infinity pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. It is an ideal refuge for lovers or honeymooners and a great base for exploring the coast, north and south, and the unsung delights of the Anti-Atlas.
From £115 per room per night.
The Beach Retreat, Mexico.
Villa del Faro is a unique oasis of five rentable units, nestled on a deserted beach on the Sea of Cortez, in Mexico. Created as a labour of love by artisans and architects on twelve acres of gardens and desert, it overlooks miles of deserted beach. Turtles nest on the beaches, and you can swim and surf all year long. There is incredible snorkelling and while the hotel sits in lush gardens, the surrounding desert is as pristine and untouched as it can be. Nature abounds!
