On Thursday 16 September, one of the popular fringe events leading up to the Abergavenny Food Festival is The Bell’s Australian Wine Dinner held in conjunction with Wine Australia.

Now in its 8th year, the wine evening will start with an Australian Fizz reception and canapés followed by a five-course dinner by The Bell’s head chef Rupert Taylor, with each course accompanied by a different Australian wine. The menu and wines can be seen by visiting skenfrith.co.uk. Tickets are £60.

On Sunday 19 September, The Bell is holding a Really Welsh Sunday Lunch in conjunction with the Festivaland with the support of Ancre Hill Vineyard, the Really Welsh Company, Brian George the renowned Talgarth Butcher and Gillian Clarke, the Welsh National Poet, will be unveiling some new work. There will be tours of the organic Kitchen Garden (now in its second year of organic status!) at 11.30 with The Bell’s head gardener, Michele Civil.
