New Redrow homes planned for Steeton

The village of Steeton, West Yorkshire, could be the latest place to feature homes from Redrow’s exclusive New Heritage Collection.

The acquisition of 15 acres already allocated for housing means that Redrow is firmly back in the market to purchase land.

John Grime, regional director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), commented: “At Redrow we are committed to constructing quality homes that people want to live in and to fulfil that commitment we need land to build on. The site in Steeton, north west of Keighley, is a welcome addition to our portfolio.”

A detailed planning application, with an emphasis on family living, is being drawn up and will be submitted shortly.

“We hope to build circa 200 properties in Steeton, offering home buyers a choice of two, three and four-bedroom properties from our critically acclaimed New Heritage Collection,” John said.

“Designed in response to customer feedback, the New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with traditional exteriors that give a nod to the past and high specification interiors styled for 21st century living. It’s been wowing customers across the country including at a number of developments across Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire and I’m confident it will be equally popular in Steeton.”

The New Heritage Collection is influenced by the Arts and Crafts era, with many external features reminiscent of one of the most popular and enduring of British architectural styles.

Some of the features which typify the Arts and Crafts era – and will be seen to varying degrees in homes across the region - include dropped eaves, projecting plinths, bays and other distinctive window styles, often with leaded lights. Other highlights include timber or tiled canopies over doors and windows, supported by decorative gallows brackets, and the use of larch lap boarding, while front door styles and colours also reflect the ‘heritage’ feel.

The traditional exteriors of the homes hide convivial open plan living areas with fashionable kitchen designs fitted with floor to ceiling units and bathrooms that are sleek, modern and pleasing to the eye.
