npower withdraws Go Fix v2 energy tariff
Commenting on npower removing its Go Fix v2 tariff, Scott Byrom, energy manager at moneysupermarket.com said: "The writing has been on the wall for a while now; in the wake of recent tariff withdrawals and price increases to leading gas and electricity tariffs. So, it's no surprise that the market leading fixed deal has now been withdrawn. With the removal of npower's Go Fix v2, and the cost of wholesale energy continuing to rise, I fully expect other leading deals to be withdrawn soon. It's a kick in the teeth for hard pressed bill payers but it is safe to say the best deals will only continue to go up in the next few months.
"For those coming off their existing fixed rate deal, or those who are looking to protect their energy prices, fixing on to the cheapest deal now will ensure any future price increases will pass you by, and most importantly won't hit your wallet hard during the cold, and more costly, winter months. The next best fixed deal at the moment is ‘New Energy Fixed' from OVO Energy at £926 annually, or for those looking for an online variable deal, ‘SaveOnline v2' from E.ON at £882 a year."
