We Move Bikes opt for ‘Electra Glide in black’ for show trucks

Two new, all-black Volvo FH tractor units have joined the fleet of Gloucester-based We Move Bikes. Contracted to all-American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson the stunning 4x2 units are used to transport the latest and most exotic Harley creations to exhibitions throughout Britain and Europe.

“The Volvos were purchased because of their reliability, driver comfort and classy appearance,” said We Move Bikes director Tony Davis. “Our fleet colour is black and this fits very comfortably with the internationally recognized Harley-Davidson livery of black and orange.”

Specified for long distance operations the Volvos are equipped with a 13-litre diesel rated at 500hp, I-Shift fully-automated gearbox and Globetrotter cab. Dual 500-litre fuel tanks and extra large AdBlue reservoirs minimise the need to stop when away from base.

Chassis-mounted side skirts, Alcoa Durabright wheels, chequer-plate chassis infill and Kelsa light bars on the front and sides provide visually appealing finishing touches to the already impressive vehicles. On the inside, driver comforts include a full-leather cab interior, refrigerator, microwave oven, coffee maker and flat-screen TV.

“Our drivers are expected to keep their vehicles in immaculate condition at all times and have to be ambassadors for both Harley-Davidson AND their own company when they’re on the road,” said We Move Bikes director Paul Lusty, adding, “Providing them with top-flight equipment demonstrates our commitment to these high standards.”

“There is only one small problem with these units and that is the worry that they attract almost as much attention as the motorcycles on display at the exhibitions we attend! But I guess we’ll just have to live with that,” added Tony Davis.   

Supplied by Wales and West Truck & Bus Ltd, We Move Bikes’ new Volvo tractor units will be serviced under contract by the Dealer’s nearby Gloucester depot.
