Peugeot is the ‘upper crust’ with Allied Bakeries

Allied Bakeries now offers Peugeot’s new 307 and stylish 407 to its managers and senior managers who travel between Allied’s producing bakeries and offices across the UK. The vehicles will all be powered by Peugeot’s Euro IV 2.0 litre 136 bhp HDi diesel engine, which provides excellent fuel economy as well as exceptional levels of driving ability and low BIK taxation.
Jon Berry, supply chain purchasing manager at Allied Bakeries said: "We run a fleet of 400 vehicles and employees can choose vehicles based on a grading system around total life costs of ownership. We also require vehicles to provide first class driver comfort and the Peugeot 307 and 407 meet this requirement together with unique styling and low ownership costs."
Peugeot’s recently restyled 307 now has a new sportier look with larger more powerful elliptical headlamps and an integrated bumper with sports grille. Comfort and driving pleasure have also been improved with new dual zone air conditioning, a stylish new instrument panel and the fitment of the latest generation dual-volume, twin-generator front airbags to add to the already comprehensive standard safety equipment of the 307.
For Allied Bakeries staff travelling further afield, the 407’s comprehensive standard equipment levels make driving as safe and comfortable as possible. The 407 provides dynamic performance combined with true driving pleasure, yet it is still economical to run.
Peugeot’s 2.0 litre Euro IV 136 bhp HDi diesel engine develops its maximum power at 4,000 rpm and torque of 240 lb.ft at 2,000 rpm, all combined with a fuel consumption of 52.3 mpg (307) and 47.9 mpg (407).
Allied Bakeries has a significant share of the UK bread market and manufactures leading brands including Kingsmill, Allinson, Sunblest and Burgen. Its head office is in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
All vehicles are being supplied by Peugeot dealer Perry’s of Milton Keynes.
