Peugeot 1007 the small car with ‘ESP’

Peugeot 1007 Modern car safety systems are making driving in wintry conditions much safer.

Wouldn’t it be good if your car could predict a possible driving error and correct it before it becomes serious?

The Peugeot 1007 with its standard fitment of ESP on all models, provides the added safety of having a ‘Guardian Angel’ watching over your every move.

ESP, short for Electronic Stability Programme automatically detects if the vehicle is skidding and actively counteracts it. Once it identifies a dangerous situation, it reduces engine power to improve stability and, if required, applies braking to individual wheels without any intervention from the driver. True ‘extra sensory perception’.

The Swedish National Road Administration reported in 2002 that the fitment of ESP on a vehicle reduces accidents on dry roads by 22% and by some 33% in wet conditions.

Combined with the highest score ever recorded by Euro NCAP, since it started testing cars in 1997, the 1007 clearly has safety built into its DNA.

So what value do you put on safety? In the case of the Peugeot 1007, (unlike its competitors) there is no extra cost.

ESP is fitted as standard on every model, protecting occupants as well as other road users.
