Brits choose blighty as holiday heaven

14th June 2006 Print
Despite the lure of low cost airlines and cheap package deals more than 40 million holidays will be taken this year on British soil. And what’s more, over two thirds (68 per cent) will choose to explore the UK by car.

For families looking to dust down their bucket and spade and head out on the open road they should look no further than Peugeot’s 307 SW. The stylish SW, which seats five as standard and can comfortably house an additional two rear seats (available as an optional extra) has a suitcase full of features to make any car journey relaxing and safe.

The 307 SW has a three-quarter length panoramic glass roof which allows the sunshine to pour in, lighting up the whole cabin, and provides a fantastic vista for a game of eye spy with the kids. In the rare instance the sun becomes too hot, a sequentially-sliding electric blind allows the occupants to block out the light, whilst the air conditioning system ensures the temperature can be kept completely under control.

On trips away, luggage space is an important factor and the SW will not leave you having to choose between a large or small suitcase with its multitude of storage areas. As well as the boot its spacious interior has under-seat drawers and large door bins while the aviation-style tables on the back of the two front seats offer a handy perch for snacks. The full length roof rails complete this impressive load lugging capability, giving owners the ability to carry a further 100kg.

And if navigating is not your strong point and you wish to avoid the usual holiday arguments, then there is always the choice of the optional satellite navigation systems to guide you effortlessly to your destination. So with your bags packed and a practical car like the SW, which is available in two trim levels (S and SE) from £12,700 and with a choice of petrol or diesel engines, let the good times roll.
