New car/technology first for Avis and Peugeot

Customers hiring one of the 207 1.4S models which are now available on the Avis fleet, will be contacted by Avis to give their verdict on the new car, with full results then being passed on to Peugeot for assessment.
In addition, mirror hangers will direct drivers to text a number, which, using the latest WAP mobile phone technology, will enable them to request a brochure; design their own 207 and download the image; obtain example finance information; find their nearest dealer and even download free ring-tones. They can also enter a free draw to win tickets to exclusive drive-in movies being staged by Peugeot over the summer in Nottingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Gloucester.
Avis fleet director, Paul Hainsworth, explains: “The 207 is an important new car for Peugeot and we are privileged, not only in giving our customers the opportunity to be amongst the first to drive it, but also in that we can provide the essential driver feedback required for any new car. We will be offering the 207 to customers through rental stations across the UK, where it will be promoted through a poster campaign.”
Peugeot rental manager, Bryan Spademan adds: “The new 207 has had a tremendous reception from the press who have driven it; they all thought it was a great car. But of course, as a manufacturer, the most important reaction for us is the one we get from the public, so we are keen to get feedback as soon as possible. With an average of 105 potential drivers experiencing each of the Avis rental cars over the next six months, this important new initiative means we will benefit from the opinion of thousands of drivers within a very short period of the model launch.”
Avis customers will be among the very first drivers in the country to experience the much-awaited 207 supermini, which only arrived in showrooms on 8 June.
