Peugeot customers benefit from 2007 budget

23rd March 2007 Print
Peugeot 207 Peugeot’s popular range of small cars just got even more attractive with the recent budget announcement that the cost of taxing a car in VED group B is now only £35, a 30% reduction.

With over 16% of all Peugeot cars sold in the UK falling into this taxation group and Peugeot small car sales up over 23% this year, the budget will have been happy reading for many Peugeot owners and potential customers.

The popular Peugeot 107, 206 and 207 HDi 1.4-litre diesel models and the 207 1.6-litre HDi 90 models all sit firmly within VED Band B, as defined by the government in March 2001 to encourage the use of smaller, cleaner and more fuel efficient cars.

The Budget also provided further good news for owners of Peugeot HDi diesel powered vehicles, with the announcement that the government will be increasing its commitment and investment in the production of biofuels.

All Peugeot HDi diesel engines can, without any modifications, operate on a mixture of up to 30% biodiesel. So with the recognition by the government of the need to increase the use of biodiesel, Peugeot HDi owners will be in the perfect position to benefit from future developments and in doing so reduce further the costs of their everyday motoring, whilst helping protect the environment.
