The Eurosport Group has signed a TV rights deal with NBC Sports for exclusive broadcast rights to Notre Dame University’s home American football matches for 2010 across Europe and Asia.

Starting September 4, all Notre Dame home games will be broadcast throughout Europe exclusively on Eurosport 2. The 2010 season includes eight home games and features top college teams such as Purdue, Michigan, Stanford, Pittsburgh, and Army in a special game to be played at the world famous Yankee Stadium.

In addition, Eurosport has acquired the exclusive TV rights in Asia. The season will also be broadcast in the 14 countries where Eurosport Asia Pacific is distributed.

Eurosport 2's exclusive coverage of the 2010 season enables the growing population of American football fans to follow the exciting Notre Dame, one of American college football’s most popular teams (NCAA Top 25) and enhances Eurosport 2's growing American sports programming offer.

"We are happy to establish another partnership with NBC Sports and offer European and Asian fans the opportunity to follow Notre Dame, one of America's most prestigious college football teams. Eurosport 2's ambition is to continually enhance the channel's programming offer and to provide viewers with the very best in sports entertainment. American college football adds to our rich programme offer," says Julien Bergeaud, Broadcast Director Eurosport & Eurosport 2.

This partnership demonstrates the channel's continued cooperation with NBC Sports to offer premium sports events to viewers across Europe. Eurosport and NBC Sports have a longstanding partnership initiated by agreements with Apparent Gravity Media in 2006 for the DEW Tour - the world’s premier action sports tour produced by NBC Sports and distributed by Apparent Gravity Media. Both the summer and winter tours are broadcast exclusively on Eurosport 2 through 2013.
