First new Volvo for Bagnall and Morris

One of the North West’s most progressive waste management companies, Bagnall and Morris has taken delivery of their first-ever new Volvo FM from Thomas Hardie Commercials - Deeside.
Basing their decision on price and attaining the required support from their local Volvo dealer, Bagnall and Morris’s Fleet Engineer, Paul Jarmay explained, “Volvo provided us with an exceptional price on the vehicle, the whole package with a 7-year repair and maintenance contract was ideally suited to our businesses requirements.”
He continued, “Operating a 10-year vehicle replacement plan, its peace of mind knowing that for the next seven years the vehicle will be maintained by Volvo.”
Plated for 32 GCW, the 8x4 hooklift vehicle was specified with 370 bhp, I-shift automated transmission and Day cab in ‘Comfort’ trim. It is also the company’s first vehicle to operate at Euro 5 with SCR technology.
With three depots across the region, the vehicle will predominately operate from the company’s Bromborough site on the Wirral.
In addition, Bagnall and Morris have also placed an order a Volvo FM, 8x2 Rear End Loader with unique Farid body for their new depot in Manchester - the company has recently acquired a 2.5 acre site off Europa Gate in Trafford Park. This will allow the business to continue their growth in the area.
Paul explained, “With heavy investment in the Manchester area, it has become vital to increase the depots fleet.”
He added that, “Thomas Hardie’s Trafford Park depot is just minutes away from our new site, so it’s ideal for the maintenance of the vehicle.”
Currently operating 44 waste management vehicles, plans are in place to steadily increase the company’s fleet further as the business continues to expand.
