Peugeot donation keeps Coventry scouts snug under canvas

The 43-acre site just three miles from Coventry city centre offers camping and outdoor activity holidays for thousands of scouts each year, some local and some from as far afield as Holland and Switzerland.
Peugeot’s donation of duvets, pillows and wind up lanterns will be used by the site’s indoor cabin area for the younger cubs and in the Storm Hut which provides emergency sleeping facilities in the event of the Rough Close site being flooded.
“Coventry Scouts are very proud of the Rough Close centre and we are always looking to improve the facilities on offer,” explained Dave Atkin, County Treasurer of Coventry Scouts.
“Peugeot’s contribution will offer the best possible comfort to our younger cubs that use our new indoor cabin and to those scouts whose tents may get flooded in the type of severe weather we have recently experienced,” he added.
“The scouting movement encourages young people to get outdoors and experience new things and we are pleased that we can support what is one of the best scouting facilities in the UK,” said Peugeot’s Managing Director, Pierre Louis Colin.
Peugeot (and parent company PSA Peugeot Citroën) is one of Coventry’s largest employers, employing over 1,000 people at the Aldermoor Lane and Tile Hill locations. Peugeot is committed to the region and has run a strong Community Relations programme for many years.
The donation coincides with Peugeot launching its very first Sports Utility Vehicle – the 4007 into the UK market. The 4007 extends the Peugeot product portfolio and features an innovative four-wheel drive system, latest generation HDi diesel engine technology and a versatile interior which can transport up to seven in style and comfort.
