The Stig retreats to a plush penthouse in Bristol?

As the media frenzy surrounding The Stig and his true identity continues, a man bearing striking similarities to the Top Gear personality was papped at a plush penthouse apartment in Bristol.

Keen to keep his face under wraps the man was spotted arriving at Taylor Wimpey’s stylish Meridian development, in Bristol, in a black Aston Martin DB9 with nothing more than a couple of boxes marked ‘fragile’.

Dressed in a white racing suit and white crash helmet it can only be presumed he had decided to come back to his home town of Bristol and find a sanctuary to escape the spiralling media attention.

Tom Allen, site manager at Taylor Wimpey’s Meridian development spotted the suited and booted man and said: “It’s no surprise he’s come back to his home town really, I mean the poor lad is getting a lot of stick. They say there’s no place like home and being back in Bristol he’ll be able to go back to his roots whilst having a private refuge to get away from all the hype surrounding him.”
