Every day’s a holiday for Andy, Tracy and sons after they moved into their brand new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Castlemead development of houses for sale in Bedfordshire.

Owning a brand new Taylor Wimpey home in Bedfordshire is like being on permanent holiday for the Dell family!

Husband and wife Andy and Tracy and their sons, Jack and Daniel, moved to Taylor Wimpey’s Castlemead development of houses for sale in Pitstone, Bedfordshire, at the beginning of July – and have been in the summer holiday mood ever since.

“Everything’s so new and so beautiful, every day I wake up in the house I feel like I’m on holiday,” explained Tracy, whose search with her family for new homes in Bedfordshire ended with the discovery of Castlemead.

“We had so many jobs creeping up on us at our old house, in Tring, it was tired-looking and needed a lot of decorating. So it’s such an amazing feeling to move in somewhere that needs absolutely no work doing to it. It’s just perfect.”

The money the Dells saved by choosing an immaculate five-bedroom Taylor Wimpey house over a similar-sized second-hand home has also delighted them.

“We were considering putting an offer in on a second-hand three-bedroom semi-detached house,” explains Tracy. “Then we saw this house design and found we could get a brand new house, with two extra bedrooms, and for £30,000 less! There really was no decision to make after that.

“I really cannot recommend Taylor Wimpey’s homes enough, they are brilliant, and I still can’t believe we live in such a great place!”

Their Taylor Wimpey home offers the flexibility 45-year-old Andy and Tracy (47) needed to run their double glazing firm from home, and the couple are using the fifth bedroom as an office. Many Taylor Wimpey homes are designed so that the most appropriate bedroom is equipped with additional electrical sockets and a phone connection so that it can easily be used as a home office.

At the heart of their expansive home is the generous open plan kitchen/dining room, ideal for family mealtimes and entertaining, while a spacious lounge and guest cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation.

Leading off the first floor landing is the magnificent en-suite master bedroom, a second double bedroom, a further bedroom and a main bathroom, while the top floor boasts two further double bedrooms.

Four-bedroom family homes at Castlemead include the ‘Ivinghoe’ design which is currently available to reserve at the development priced at just £369,995, and will be ready to move into later this year.

An alternative style, the ‘Leighton’, is priced from only £409,995 including upgraded kitchen fittings, while the three-bedroom ‘Denham’ is available for just £259,995.

Each home comes complete with a fitted kitchen, including oven, hob and built-in hood, plus a garage and a parking space.

Castlemead is an attractive setting for those keen to enjoy life in a thriving village community within easy reach of Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and central London.

The new homes are within easy reach of a pre-school, sports clubs and activities for youngsters, while the village church, cricket club, drama group and local history society offer activities for all. Pitstone is also the proud home to a museum of rural life, packed with fascinating artefacts charting the area’s rich heritage.

Children are well catered for by a selection of good educational facilities within the local area, including a primary school a mile from the development, and secondary schools in the market town of Tring, just three miles away.

Tring also offers a wide range of shops, sporting and leisure pursuits, while Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and Hemel Hempstead are all within a 10-mile radius of Castlemead.

For those travelling further afield, the M25 is 20 miles away, and the M1 north and south is within a 10-mile drive. Tring Station provides services to London Euston in 45 minutes.

Castlemead’s showhome and Sales Centre are located at 2 Harlech Road, off Westfield Road, Pitstone, open seven days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday between 10am and 5pm, and Mondays 1.30pm to 5pm.
