Peugeot lights up your life when all around is dark

Today’s vehicles offer a myriad of different types of headlights and Peugeot’s guide aims to provide the benefits of each system in layman’s terms.
Peugeot is well-qualified to share its expertise, having one of the most distinctive ‘feline-shaped eyes’ style and headlight designs in the industry. The large ‘feline’ appearance of lights on the latest Peugeot models characterises its products from the competition, and houses within a variety of safety and technology features.
Xenon Headlamps
Gas discharge technology produces a light that is very close to that of daylight and greatly improves the driver’s vision of the road ahead
Headlamp washers and an automatic levelling function are standard, a legal requirement, so as to eliminate possible dazzling of other road users
Produce almost three times as much light as a standard halogen bulb using approximately two thirds of the power
More environmentally friendly; unlike a normal halogen bulb there is no filament, so it lasts up to four times longer
Xenon headlamps are fitted to the Peugeot 308, 407 Saloon and SW, 407 Coupé, 607, 807 and 4007
Bi-Xenon Headlamps
Xenon power but with a single light unit controlling both the dipped beam and main beam functions
Static Directional Lighting
Developed by Peugeot to improve the driver’s night vision to identify otherwise hidden hazards on the side of the road
Illuminates pedestrians or cyclists which could be hidden from conventional headlights, when making manoeuvres around town or on the open road
Activated by an electronic control unit which anticipates the need for the extra lighting when turning
Available on the popular Peugeot 207 and 207 CC
Xenon Directional Lighting
Makes night driving easier and safer, combining the benefits of Static Directional Lighting but with an active moveable xenon light unit
Can rotate through an angle of between 7.5 to 22 degrees and highlights obstacles, pedestrians or cyclists at the side of the road
Available on the Peugeot 407 Coupé
Automatic lights-on activation
Standard on many Peugeot models since its introduction in the late 1990s
Provides automatic illumination of the dipped beam headlamps ensuring improved visibility in poor weather conditions
Uses an optical sensor, mounted on the windscreen, to identify the level of exterior light and control the activation/deactivation of the headlamps (in tunnels and in low light conditions)
Available on the Peugeot 1007, 206, 207, 307, 308, 407, 407 Coupé, 607, 807 and 4007
