Bought a new car last September?

24th August 2005 Print
With new car registrations available from 1st September, insuresupermarket.com is issuing a warning to those who purchased a new car this time last year and have enjoyed the dealer’s one year free insurance package.

Richard Mason, director of insuresupermarket.com, said: "With many car dealers offering free insurance with new vehicles, anyone who bought a new car this time last year and benefited from a year’s free insurance should beware of renewing the same policy as there will invariably be a better deal on offer elsewhere.

"Free insurance is a great perk for anyone who’s bought a new car. But if you don’t shop around when the deal comes to an end, you can easily end up eating into the savings you made by bagging a free insurance deal in the first place. If you stick with the same insurer, your car dealer — not you — has chosen your insurance policy for you, and it’s highly likely that you’ll end up paying over the odds."
