New home sales take off in Moston

Redrow's health and safety mascot Buster Bear and the company’s hot air balloon made a special appearance in Moston, where sales of new homes are taking off.

Redrow is working with Manchester City Council to provide quality built affordable new homes as part of a pioneering regeneration scheme in the Moston and Harpurhey areas.

And the developer joined in the fun as the local community celebrated Moston Day on Saturday, September 4th. Redrow’s health and safety mascot, Buster the Bear ‘the builder’s buddy’, mingled with the crowds and took part in the parade from Moston Lane Community Primary school to Broadhurst Playing Fields.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire) commented: “Buster the Bear was made very welcome and we had great fun meeting local residents – including Britain’s Got Talent finalist Liam McNally – and celebrating Moston Day. At Redrow we want to be good neighbours and part of the community as well as building good quality, affordable homes.”

Joining in with Moston Day also enabled Redrow to introduce its Hanson Gardens venture to a whole host of new people. Staff explained how a shared equity scheme administered by the City Council can help make homeownership more affordable by allowing buyers to defer 25% of the purchase price of a home, interest free for 10 years.

“The shared equity scheme means customers can put off paying up to a quarter of the price, enabling them to snap up a two-bedroom home for an initial outlay of as little as £78,746,” added Lesley.

“There has been a steady stream of sales at Hanson Gardens, where the first phase of homes was released in July, and we’ve now taken the first two reservations on the second of six sites to be redeveloped in the area, Kenyon Gardens.”

Hanson Gardens in Hugo Street, off Lightbowne Road, is the first phase of the wider regeneration scheme.

Hanson Gardens will feature 128 two and three-bedroom homes, in a scheme that will eventually see more that 400 properties built on six separate sites.

As each phase is released for sale existing residents of the Moston and Harpurhey wards will be given an exclusive window when only they can reserve a new home.

The next phase, Kenyon Gardens, offers a choice of three and four-bedroom homes, including some detached, with prices from £132,950 or just £99,712 for those who use the shared equity scheme.

Two professionally decorated, fully furnished show homes are now open for viewing at Hanson Gardens.
