Lex champions the motor industry to go ‘carbon neutral’
The UK’s largest vehicle leasing company - Lex - is offering the entire motor industry a simple way to make their motoring miles carbon neutral.Whether you are a company car driver, work for a car dealer, run a bodyshop or are a chief executive of an automotive supplier, Lex is encouraging motorists to offset harmful exhaust emissions their cars or vans generate.
Annual costs are as little as £38.50 – simply visit lex.co.uk/lovecars and you can sign up online. All of the subscription paid goes towards a number of impactful environmental and socially responsible projects in the UK and around the world.
Lex’s partner for the scheme is The CarbonNeutral Company, which is currently building an ever-growing portfolio of clean initiatives throughout the world.
“Not many drivers know that a car with a 1.4 litre engine generates 3.12 tonnes of carbon emissions annually,” explained Jon Walden, Lex managing director.
“This programme shouldn’t stop drivers buying a car that is fuel efficient and low on carbon emissions, but it helps drivers offset their impact on the natural environment,” he added.
Drivers who decide to sign up for the Lex CarbonNeutral Driving will receive a certificate, an informative driving book (which includes interesting places to visit from an environmental perspective) and a tax-disc size badge for the windscreen of their car, letting the world know they are tempering the effects of their car’s harmful emissions.
Lex is one of the very few companies in the motor industry to achieve ISO14001 environmental certification.
