Phil starts Grand Prix collection thanks to Mobil 1 and Halfords

Sevenoaks resident, Phil Gray, was the lucky winner of a signed replica Lewis Hamilton race helmet on Friday, after his wife secretly entered a national competition run by Mobil 1 and Halfords to bag the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team driver and Belgian Grand Prix winner’s replica race helmet.

Phil, who is an avid fan of Grand Prix racing, collected the helmet from Halfords’ Nichola Borg at the leading car accessory store’s Sevenoaks outlet and said he was delighted with the prize.

He commented, “It came as a complete surprise to me. I follow Grand Prix racing and I really admire Lewis, so to have a replica helmet is great. I’m not sure where I will put it, but I recently bought a display cabinet so maybe the ornaments will have to find a new home.

“I don’t have any other motorsport memorabilia so I think the collection will start now – thanks to Mobil 1 and Halfords!”
