Nationwide Crash Repair Centres was celebrating last weekend as Tim Harvey, who is sponsored by the UK’s largest fixed-site and mobile vehicle body repairer, drove straight into the record books at Croft Circuit – by notching up more wins in the Porsche Carrera Cup championship than any other driver.

Two storming wins at the North Yorkshire track gives Harvey 33 wins overall, smashing the previous total of 31 held by 2004 Carrera Cup winner Richard Westbrook.  With nine wins out of ten races, Harvey now has an impressive 39 point lead in the current competition and is fast becoming the man to watch this season.  He also had the honour, over the weekend, of taking the cup in the landmark 150th race in the eight year history of the championship.

Harvey, who spearheads the six car line-up from Red Line Racing, has been sponsored by Nationwide Crash Repair Centres since 2007.  The body and paint work on Harvey’s Porsche has been maintained by the team at Middlesbrough since the partnership began, and the Nationwide engineers are immensely proud of the car, “It was wonderful to see Tim win twice on Sunday,” explained Steve Jenney, Territory Manager for Nationwide. “As well as the team from Middlesbrough, we had staff and guests supporting Tim from our centres across the North East.  We’ve looked after the body and paint work for four years now - and it is a brilliant boost for staff to watch the car cross the line at the front of the pack!”

Harvey was just as delighted, “The car was perfect, the team was perfect, even the weather held off – in fact, it was a brilliant day!  It is great to be heading into the long break before Snetterton (7/8 August) at the top of the table. There was a fantastic amount of support at Croft from Red Line and Nationwide, and it is always a great feeling to get a good result in front of a home crowd.”

There is now a six week break before rounds 11 and 12 of the championship which will take place at Snetterton Circuit in Norfolk on the 07/08 August 2010.
