Cheryl Cole is most wanted city break celebrity companion

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has topped a poll of celebrities Brits would most like to take on a city break with this autumn.

Travel comparison website travelsupermarket.com surveyed almost 1,800* of its website visitors and found that almost a third of respondents (29 per cent) would choose the nation's sweetheart, Cheryl Cole, as their ideal travel mate. Cheryl was closely followed by fellow X Factor judge Dannii Minogue, who received a quarter (25 per cent) of votes.

In third place came Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson with ten per cent of votes, just two percent ahead of Stephen Fry and Lily Allen who received eight per cent of votes each. Despite having ample holiday spending funds, Simon Cowell managed to secure only six per cent of votes, meanwhile, recently troubled footballer Wayne Rooney came bottom of the poll with only three per cent of respondents choosing the England striker as their ideal holiday companion.
