Exeter Airport attracts Hilton Hotels

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline and the UK’s Number One Domestic carrier, has expressed delight at the announcement that a prestigious 160-room Hampton by Hilton hotel complex is to be built on the same site as its new Training Academy and will be open for business by the end of 2011.

Simon Witts, Flybe’s Director Training Academy comments: “We congratulate Exeter Airport in having attracted such a well-known global brand that will greatly enhance the facilities we will be able to offer those attending our new Academy and, of course, to our passengers who may wish to stay overnight. To have such a respected resource available on-site to conveniently accommodate the thousands of people who will be passing through our Training Academy each year is solid testament to the confidence in our complex fast becoming a truly world-renowned training campus.

“Flybe already utilises over 30 hotel rooms a night in the Exeter area and our demand will double as we relocate our pilot training to Exeter.”

The Flybe Training Academy, scheduled for completion this December, will incorporate 25 classrooms and four flight simulators. It has been designed to provide world-class training not only for its own staff but also to enhance Flybe’s growing reputation as an international training facility for the airline industry as a whole. It will also offer specialist training for companies involved across the entire travel-related spectrum.
