HostelBookers fast tracks into Sunday Times top 100
HostelBookers, the budget accommodation specialist, has been named one of the UK’s 100 fastest-growing technology companies in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 list released on the 19th September.
The league table, which identifies the UK’s fastest-growing private technology, telecoms and digital media companies, ranks HostelBookers 62nd following sales growth of 45% to £8.3 million for the year ending December 2009.
The Tech Track 100 adopts the London Stock exchange’s Techmark definition of a technology company where companies must show a commitment to innovation, research and product development, and operate in one of a number of different sectors. Companies were selected from a database of two million private UK companies.
David Smith, COO at HostelBookers, states: “We are delighted to have achieved 62nd place in the list. Since its launch in 2003, Hostelbookers.com has grown from strength to strength and now stands as a globally recognized brand in a competitive online travel industry. HostelBookers.com caters to over 25 million highly targeted users annually, offering 20,000 quality budget properties – from hostels to guesthouses, hotels, B&B and apartments – in over 3,500 destinations worldwide.
