On-line shopping launched by Owen Developments

Owen Developments, the Oxfordshire based automotive performance enhancing specialists, has just launched their new website where customers can buy on-line.
Not a groundbreaking venture on the face of it but the site is the first of its kind in the world with a specialist area where customers can not only select the turbocharger they want but they can custom build and choose specialist modifications for added performance.

Brian Owen, Managing Director said, “Because we offer so many different combinations of the latest Garrett ball bearing turbochargers which can be fitted to so many different vehicles for so many different levels of performance, and as we are The Garrett Performance Centre for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, it made sense for us to develop our website to include a direct selling function and easy step-by-step guides for ordering and even the fitting of these units.”

He added, “When we looked at the statistics of users for our previous website we found that many customers were using the facility in the evenings or at weekends. If a customer had a question about what to buy or what was suitable for their vehicle, at these times we were not able to give the specific specialist answer by telephone they needed. We are renowned for looking after our customers so we do not employ a telesales team. Our business is too technical for that and whether our customer is a vehicle manufacturer, a world motorsport team or a private individual, the benefit from buying from Owens is that they will receive the backup, support, technical knowledge and assistance that is so important and they can speak directly to me or our engineers and technicians. So that customers can exactly research their needs and buy on-line when it suits them 24/7 we have now added the shopping facilities and much more to our new website. During working hours we, of course, remain available on the telephone to offer advice if it’s needed but we think the new website and its various shops have most of the answers”.

To support this new on-line turbo shopping facility Owen Developments have also developed specialist turbo fitting kits. These enable quick and easy fitment by the customer of this range of Garrett ball bearing turbos that are not specific to individual vehicles.

The company has also added to their new website an area for Mitsubishi Evolution and IHI Subaru turbochargers, again with uprated choices and adaptations for motorsport use.

All the performance products offered on the site are proven and have been part of the main research and development work many years which the company has been undertaking for the top level motorsport teams. They felt it was time to make this level of expertise available to all.

Owen Developments are constantly adding new upgrades, for instance their latest ported turbocharger shrouds that are again proven in use before being offered as a performance improvement product to a wider audience.
