New entertainment experience featuring real families
Samsung has launched smart n simple -smartnsimple.tv - a new multi-platform entertainment experience that lets people inside the homes of real families living in London.
Featuring an original four-episode online reality show, smart n simple profiles families in need of simple solutions that help them manage everyday domestic challenges. Each five minute episode, which is hosted by actress Ginnie Watson, provides tips and advice on a different aspect of home living, such as how to become more efficient so people can spend more time doing the things they love and less time on household chores.
Each episode of smart n simple will be distributed online on smartnsimple.tv and Dailymotion.com, and will be promoted through Facebook and Twitter. People can also enter an online competition to win a NaviBot, Samsung’s new robotic vacuum cleaner, by uploading videos revealing their own smart housework tips which they are then encouraged to share with friends. The competition will run until 30 November, and the video with the most views at the beginning of each month will be featured as the Top Tip of the Month on the smart n simple site and win a NaviBot.
“We wanted to create an innovative multi-channel experience that bridged the gap between what brands can typically offer people, and which we could also use as a means of communicating information about our range of Home Appliances,” said Andrew Jones, Marketing Manager. “With smart n simple, we hope to engage with people in a new way, by welcoming them into the homes of real people through original entertainment and social media and providing them with useful tips that help make their lives easier.”
smart n simple uses a combination of original entertainment (directed and shot on location in London), social media distribution, online marketing and promotional / sweepstakes tactics. Promotional spots* have also been created featuring Samsung Home Appliances in the Fabric Care, Food Care and Household Care categories that will be placed in and around the show.
