Majestic Wine Warehouses - the UK’s largest wine warehouse chain - is taking another Volvo FM9 6x2 rigid truck in addition to the three they took last year.

On the road in September, the new FM9 is based at Majestic’s UK warehouse complex in Watford from where it will be delivering to their stores throughout the UK. Majestic’s Logistics Manager, Mark Evans said, “The key for our business is speed and reliability of service. The Volvo is a good product and the service from our local dealer in Radlett is extremely good.”

The new FM9 is being fitted with an Essex Bodies dry freight box body and a Dhollandia tail lift. Driver feedback from the models already in service has been very good. Mark Evans said, “The Volvo FM is a very popular truck with the drivers. It has a sleeper cab, an I-Shift automated transmission and is a very comfortable truck.”

Majestic’s transport operation runs a two-brand fleet and their acquisition policy is straight purchase. “It allows us to make our buying decision on dealer service and vehicle reliability, and we get the best price without relying on finance from elsewhere”, said Mark Evans.
