Selby site manager celebrates sixth award win

The construction team at Redrow’s Saxon Court venture near Selby downed tools in honour of site manager Shaun Johnson.
The 51-year-old has been awarded his sixth National House-Building Council Pride in the Job ‘Quality Award’ in recognition of his exceptional standards. And to celebrate the accolade a party was held at the site in Sherburn in Elmet.
NHBC regional director Geoff Egginton was among the guests, who also included Redrow staff, subcontractors and suppliers.
John Grime, regional director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) commented: “More than 18,000 site managers were assessed by the NHBC and Shaun was one of only 400 site managers across the country to receive this accolade. Shaun is a well deserved recipient as his work is of a consistently high standard. It was only right that we recognised the dedication shown by Shaun and his team with a site party.”
Shaun was one of 14 Redrow site managers across the country to win a ‘Quality Award’.
Shaun, from Menston, near Ilkley, has worked in the building trade for 25 years. He’s been a site manager for 20 years, 18 of them with Redrow.
“High standards are important no matter what style of house you are building. I make sure that every house on my sites is built to the same quality,” Shaun said.
On October 29 he will discover if he’s earned the coveted ‘Seal of Excellence’, which would put him in the top 130 site managers UK wide.
Current availability at Saxon Court includes a selection of three and four-bedroom homes, on the market from £184,999.
Three show homes are now open, showcasing the quality of the properties available at Saxon Court. To see for yourself, visit the development, open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
