12th October 2010 Print

The Granville @ Barford is hosting another special Karaoke night on Sunday 17 October at 8:30pm to raise money for World Lupus Awareness Month which takes place during October.

Anyone that takes part has to donate money to sing or they can donate money to nominate someone else to sing! The award-winning dining pub, which hopes to raise over £500 on the night, has already raised nearly £6,000 to date for Lupus during fundraising events.

Lupus is the worldwide charity for people with the incurable immune system illness. Each October, Lupus aims to raise awareness of the charity and to inform those seeking diagnosis that there is help and support available to them. Over 5 million people worldwide have lupus of which 50,000 people have the disease in the UK. 90% of sufferers are female; however, men and young children can also be affected by the disease. Sufferers endure terrible symptoms and in some cases, Lupus is fatal.

Val Kersey, Proprietor of The Granville @ Barford, stated “We’re thrilled to be hosting another special Karaoke night in support of World Lupus Awareness Month. Our previous Karaoke Nights have been great fun and highly entertaining plus it’s all in aid of such a great cause.”
