Bosses of the family-run Leekes home store have ploughed in excess of £3m into the refurbishment of the former Cole’s of Bilston store on Great Bridge Road.

The old building has undergone a major overhaul. Internally, kitchen, bathroom and conservatory studios have already been installed as well as a new furniture floor. To complement the existing departments, work is currently underway on adding brand new departments which will include:

• Electrical (Sony, Panasonic, Dyson, Miele)
• Cookware (Le Creuset, Raymond Blanc, Jamie Oliver, Brabantia, Joseph Joseph)
• Interior Design Studio (Harlequin, Romo, Designers Guild, Osborne & Little)
• Home Textiles (Cath Kidston, Bedeck, Sanderson, V&A)
• Fire Studio, Home Accessories, Lighting, Mirrors & Pictures…and much more.

Externally – and the final piece in the jigsaw - will be the construction of a two storey glass extension which will house a stunning entrance hall and modern coffee shop and work has now started on this final phase. As part of the £3m facelift, customers can expect to see an improved car park with space for up to 100 shoppers, a modernised and re-clad exterior as well as the new and extended 100,000 sq ft store interior.

Emma Leeke, managing director of Leekes, said: “We are really pleased that plans for the great reveal of the new-look store are progressing to schedule. We have well and truly transformed the store and visitors won’t fail to be impressed with the investment.

“The new store will help put Bilston and Moxley firmly on the map as a retail hotspot and destination store for everything for the home.

“We’ll be celebrating the official grand unveiling with our Big Weekend on November 20th and we’re excited at the prospect of showing customers around their new-look store.”
