West Wick site manager scoops quality award

Buying a new home is the single largest purchase you’ll make in your lifetime so quality and attention to detail is a must.
Fortunately house hunters in West Wick, Weston-super-Mare, can be assured of exactly that thanks to the diligence and hard work of Mick White, site manager at Persimmon Homes’ Church Meadows development.
This is the third time Mick, from Hutton, Weston-super-Mare, has scooped a much coveted Pride in the Job award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) - an accolade established to reward quality management and raise the standard of service to homebuyers.
Martin Ward, Persimmon’s regional construction director, said: “It’s fantastic that the NHBC has again commended Mick. I’m proud of what he has achieved, which has been made possible due to his first-class organisational skills, knowledge and support of his co-workers.
“This award not only reflects the hard work he has put in on site but gives our buyers added assurance that they are buying a superior high quality home from us.”
The NHBC awards are judged externally from a total of 17,000 construction sites in the UK and the 'Pride in the Job' award is only given to the top 400 site managers, rewarding the top three per cent those who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the highest quality workmanship.
For over a year, NHBC inspectors have made spot check visits to the Church Meadows development in West Wick to assess Mick’s performance at key stages of construction, from foundations to the finished product, focusing on all the day-to-day workings of the development.
