Family comes first at Christmas

18th October 2010 Print

In a recent survey by Santa holiday specialist Santa’s Lapland (santaslapland.com) over 64% of those asked what they `love about Christmas’ said it was spending time with the family and seeing the excitement on the children’s faces on Christmas morning.

Over 20% said they enjoyed guilt-free food and drink at Christmas, another 12% loved the build up to the day, with cheesy Christmas songs, making Christmas hampers and wrapping presents being among the top comments. Only one of the 350 people asked said she really dislikes Christmas and is planning on booking a flight or a cruise to get away from it all.

Santa’s Lapland product manager Melvin Westlake said “We really enjoyed reading all the reasons why people love Christmas, but were pleasantly surprised at the number who put the simply pleasures of being with their families and their children first. A lot of people enjoy indulging in guilt-free food and drink for once and like the general run-up to Christmas, but surprisingly relatively few cited Christmas shopping as something they enjoy”.

Esprit Santa’s Lapland (santaslapland.com) offers ultimate family Christmas experiences to visit Santa in his Lapland home between 1st and 26th December 2010, with a three day holiday for a family of three costing from £1199 and a four day holiday from £1599, including return flights from Gatwick or Manchester, transfers, two nights b&b hotel accommodation and a raft of activities including a reindeer sleigh ride, husky dog sled ride, kids’ mini skidoo ride and a full day in a snowy winter wonderland with a private family meeting with Santa, arriving in an elf-driven, snowmobile drawn sleigh.
