When Stuart Johnson and partner, Sarah Meredith found their ideal Taylor Wimpey home they were delighted.
But when the buyers for their previous property pulled out, they worried they might lose the four-bedroom home at the Hillbrook development to someone else.
Luckily for them, the Taylor Wimpey sales team were happy to hold the plot – and give them a great deal on the property.
Stuart says: “We knew we wanted the Hillbrook house as soon as we saw it but when things didn’t progress as we’d hoped, we started to get really worried.
“We’d put our previous property on the market at Easter and thought we’d be able to move quickly because we had accepted an offer within the first week.
“But when that fell through, no-one else came forward and we started to panic. We were getting plenty of viewings – we had more than 25 - but no-one was in a position to buy.
“Luckily for us Taylor Wimpey was able to help. They held the plot for us; buying us some valuable time.
“Then in July we found another possible purchaser. They were first-time buyers so it all moved very quickly and we moved in a few weeks ago.
“Throughout it all the sales team really were great – they helped us negotiate a package that gave us new carpets and floor tiles and we’ve just had the garden turfed too – and we managed to get the house for a great price.”
“We couldn’t be happier with the house – everything’s brand new and we’ve got a two-year care guarantee that gives us complete peace of mind – and it’s well on the way to becoming a real home.
“To top it off when we were waiting to move in, we entered into a special prize draw, open to all Taylor Wimpey customers, and won four tickets to York Races. Now all my friends are joking that I’ve got the Midas touch!”
