Barratt to open five new sites in the south
The housing market in the south received a timely boost today when the region’s leading housebuilder said it would be opening five new sites in the next 12 months.
Barratt will open the four new developments in the next year and once complete these will provide more than 900 new homes. The developments have a total sales value of £302,477,309 and provide further evidence that the property market in the south is likely to outperform some other parts of the country.
“There is strong demand for houses in the south and this will help sustain the local housing market whatever happens to the national economy,” said sales director Mark Docherty.
“We would not be making this significant commitment to the market in this area unless we were confident about its prospects in the medium-term.
“By building these developments we will be bringing new jobs to the region. We will also be creating well-designed, competitively-priced new homes which local people need.”
The new developments include Hollybrook Lodge and Hinkler Place in Southampton, Pan Meadows on the Isle of Wight and Meadows Keep at Blake’s Mead in Felpham.
