The cheers rang out throughout Miller Homes’ HQ on Friday 29 October, as this years winners in the NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ competition were announced.

Site managers from Miller Homes North West have proven again that they are the best in the business by scooping two Seal of Excellence’ awards in this prestigious UK-wide competition, which honours the very best site managers in house building.

Very best in the industry

Fred Swinburne, Miller Homes Construction Director said: “The NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ awards are regarded as the ultimate industry accolade and celebrate the pride which site managers take in their work, the attention to detail they pay to construction and to ensuring the highest standards are met at every level of the house building process. It sends a clear message to home buyers that buying a Miller Home guarantees a quality home.”

This year Miller Homes won its highest tally of 21 Quality Awards in the first round held in July, five of these were for North West Site Managers. To achieve a ‘Seal of Excellence’ puts you in the top 400 Site Managers in the country. Fred added: “We are delighted that our team have shone so brilliantly in the competition. Just reward for all their hard work and dedication. Well done to them all.

The Competition is Tough
Judged by a panel of independent experts, the awards are the defining seal of approval for buyers who can rest assured in the knowledge that the home they are buying has met exceptional house building standards recognised by the UK’s largest house-building regulatory body.

The competition to get to this stage of the awards is extremely tough. This year more than 13,000 UK site managers were eligible for the rigorous selection procedure, which involves site managers being monitored for excellence in 38 different disciplines including workmanship, leadership, technical expertise, and health and safety. Judging takes place over an 18-month period and covers every aspect of on-site management from the quality of workmanship to the welfare of staff.
