Motorists warned to be extra vigilant during winter months
TRACKER, the Stolen Vehicle Recovery specialist, is urging motorists to be prepared for the dark winter months’ increased car crime levels. The warning comes after the Home Office revealed October, November and January are consistently the worst months of the year in terms of vehicle thefts.
Home Office research into the theft of vehicles over the past five years shows the monthly peaks and troughs of vehicle theft. Annually, January is the worst month of the year in terms of the numbers of vehicles stolen.
Parita Patel, Marketing Manager for TRACKER Network, said: “The Home Office findings mirror our own monthly recovery statistics. January this year proved to be our single most successful month to date, with 116 stolen vehicles worth £3.87 million being recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
“However many motorists without a TRACKER device fitted to their vehicle found themselves with no way of tracing their car or ensuring a speedy return. We’d urge motorists to get a TRACKER system fitted prior to the winter months of increased car crime.”
Using VHF and GPS technology, TRACKER’s tried and tested system enables the police to literally pin-point a stolen vehicle to within a matter of feet, whether it is hidden in a container or lock-up.
