Red Bull Technology focuses on driver safety with TRACKER
As the Red Bull Racing Formula One Team celebrates its first Constructors’ Championship at the Brazilian Grand Prix, with a first and second on track, its technical arm forges another successful partnership with TRACKER. A new fleet management agreement aims to enhance the driver safety of Red Bull Technology’s support team and thus help it meet its duty of care to staff across its fleet.
TRACKER, a leader in fleet tracking solutions, recognises the challenges facing businesses and offers TRACKER Reporter to help them reduce carbon emissions, manage fuel usage, control costs and focus on staff safety.
Based in Milton Keynes, Red Bull Technology is responsible for designing and manufacturing the team’s Formula One cars, to their race-winning standard, with a staff of more than 500 across several sites. With a 16-strong fleet, Red Bull Technology commercial vehicles are used to transport staff to meetings, deliver material, collect car components and transport car parts to the race circuits.
TRACKER Reporter uses a highly intuitive reporting system that allows fleet managers to easily view fuel usage per vehicle and driver behaviour to deliver considerable business benefits. Reports such as maintenance scheduling, for example, provide automatic alerts when servicing is due on vehicles, ensuring they maintain a safe, more fuel efficient fleet and, most importantly, are meeting their duty of care obligations.
“Staff welfare and safety is of paramount importance to us – that includes our Formula One drivers, as well as our van and other business drivers across the company,” explains Ed Porter, transport manager for Red Bull Technology. “Time is of the essence in this business, but we fully appreciate that, to be successful, the most important thing is that everyone gets to the finish safely. This not only applies to our race drivers, but also to our business drivers, whether they are driving to an important meeting with a sponsor or delivering a critical component to our wind tunnel.
“TRACKER Reporter has been installed across our fleet and delivers everything we need to know to monitor driver behaviour, fuel efficiency and the status of our vehicles. This plays a vital part in our commitment to staff well-being, efficient fleet management and the ongoing success of the business.”
Stephen Doran, managing director for TRACKER concludes: “We understand the challenges businesses like Red Bull Technology face. It has to balance knowing where staff are with the added pressure to cut carbon emissions and manage fuel usage. We are working closely with the team to bring them detailed report information designed to help them meet their duty of care and manage their costs.”
