TalkTalk branded handsets

12th November 2010 Print

TalkTalk, the broadband and home phone company, is taking on BT by launching its own range of branded landline phone handsets in partnership with Binatone, the UK market leader in corded and cordless home phones. The range includes six styles of phones, which are now on sale in Argos stores and will be available in other retailers including Tesco, Dixon’s and Comet by the end of the year.

Available in black, blue, green and red, the handsets start at just £17.99 and go up to £69.99 for the most advanced model.  All handsets have been specially designed to be fully compatible with all TalkTalk’s landline calling features.

The range of handsets includes budget models for people seeking a basic landline phone, up to multi-device models for busy families, and big button and hearing aid compatible models aimed at older people or those with disabilities.

You do not need to be a TalkTalk customer to buy one of the handsets and they will work regardless of which phone provider you are with.

Tristia Clarke, commercial director at TalkTalk, said: “Until now we’ve never been able to recommend a particular handset model for our customers to use. Now we can and we’re happy to be able to offer consumers more choice and variety with their landline handsets.”

Dino Lalvani, CEO of Binatone, the company supplying the phones to TalkTalk, said: “Binatone’s partnership with TalkTalk is a key landmark in our 50 year history. This announcement sees two of Britain’s leading telecoms companies working together to bring market-leading products to the UK. It also marks the first step in what we hope to be a fruitful and innovative partnership.”
